Jonelle Salinas joined the District 428 community as the Assistant Principal of Malta Elementary in the Fall of 2026. Mrs. Salinas brings 18 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator. She has taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades and has also served as an Assistant Principal in another district.

Mrs. Salinas believes that every student can and will learn with the right tools. She is highly data-driven and leads with compassion and a commitment to improvement. Mrs. Salinas feels that teaching and learning are the best jobs in the world, and that student success is measured not only academically but also emotionally and socially. She is dedicated to empowering students to reach their full potential as a whole child.

Mrs. Salinas lives in Maple Park with her husband and three daughters. In her spare time, she loves walking her two dogs, traveling, reading novels, listening to audiobooks, antiquing/thrifting, and watching her kids' sports and activities.
